Support Worker

We are looking for support workers to join the community at Thornage Hall.

If this job interests you please see below:

Thornage Hall provides supported living accommodation in 5 houses located in the beautiful surroundings of the Thornage Hall estate.

We run a biodynamic farm which provides food for those living in our houses, as well as sales to local organic outlets. We have built on the success of the farm and have converted farm buildings into studios for our Day Services offering a range of craft, IT and artistic activity - greatly enriching the lives of those people with learning disabilities who have a thirst to develop new skills within a working environment.

Full-time - 37.5 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Part time roles of 22.5 hours are also available. Please note that sleep ins are paid at an additional rate.

These vacancies will be based in any of our 5 supported living services and will involve working with all tenants who live in our community. Ideally you will have experience of working with vulnerable adults supporting them to live the life they choose, creating a safe, harmonious and caring environment that fosters the physical and emotional wellbeing of all our tenants and the staff, co-workers who support them.

However, you don’t need to have worked in supported living before to be a good support worker. If you are caring, supportive and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, then the Thornage Hall team are keen to hear from you.

This is a varied role where you will not only support the tenants to meet their health needs, to maintain their tenancy (cleaning and managing finances) but you will also be able to support the tenants to develop their cooking skills by encouraging healthy eating options and supporting to plan and prepare meals.

Successful applicants must undergo a DBS check and hold a full driving licence.

We are unable to accept just CVs. All applicants should complete and return our application form, together with our recruitment monitoring form.
